Sleeping Indian Outfitters is a small, family-owned operation. Paul and Sharon Crittenden started it thirty years ago as a lasting hunting outfit. Paul is now in the process of passing the reins to his son, Sam, who was born and raised on the ranch.
Sam guides the pack and hunting trips, sharing his second generation wisdom of the area with guests. Sam's wife, Alix, moved west from North Carolina in 2008. She and her pony Tuff guide most of the day rides. On the trail, the guides will encourage you to spread out and will help you learn how to ride your horse rather than just sit on it.
The family is completed by about 20 horses and mules.
Hunting: the number of hunters on each trip are limited to give you the personal experience you deserve, preserve the quality of the resident herds, and insure excellent hunting in the future. 7 day hunting trips are recommended, but Sleeping Indian Outfitters will accept reservations for any length of time.
Fishing: you can go on float trips on the Green and New Fork Rivers where the opportunity for catching trophy trout abounds. Take in the beautiful views of the Wind River mountains as your experienced guides take you to the best parts of this fishing wonderland.
Lodging is available in the hunting lodge, bunkhouse, or wall tents. You will begin each day with a hearty home cooked breakfast, and hot home cooked meal will be waiting for you when you get home at night. You'll be provided with a sack lunch for your day on the trail.
