Location

The Ranch is located in Loveland, CO, an hour and fifteen minutes from Denver and forty minutes from Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park. The terrain varies from an easy, fairly flat mosey ride to climbing the peaks of Alexander, Green Ridge, and Eagle Ridge. You'll experience plenty of different geological views, from igneous granite to red shale and metamorphic rocks. As a bonus, the Big Thompson River runs right through the ranch!

Trail Rides

Whether you're an experienced rider or have never put your foot in a stirrup, you'll find a riding experience that fits you perfectly. Trail rides are available year round, weather permitting.

Day Rides: Most day rides range from 1-4 hours. From shorter rides through gentle terrain to extended climbing rides with ridge-top views, you'll have a 3200 acre "don't fence me in" riding experience regardless of your riding level. You can also sign up for a Chow Down Ride and enjoy breakfast, lunch, or a steak dinner while out on a ride.

Pack Trips: The overnight pack trip is perfect for outdoor adventurers. Head up the gulch for a 4-hour ride to Cow Camp, a 1930's homestead in the remote back country. Gear, guide, and grub provided. (6 rider minimum, 12 year old minimum)

*Note: All rides have a 240lbs weight limit and a 7 year old age minimum. Double riding is not offered, but children under 7 can do lead around rides.

Guides

Experienced wranglers will accompany you on your ride. They are friendly horse professionals who will create a safe and enjoyable riding experience for you. They'll share facts and stories about the history, wildlife, and vegetation of the area while on the ride.

Pack trips are led by an experienced guide and a cook who devote themselves to showing you the very finest and detailed areas of Colorado.

Horses

You'll get to ride a gentle and responsive American Quarter Horse during your stay. All horses are born, raised, and well-trained on the Ranch. Each horse in the herd has learned the ropes under the gentle hand of Barry McAleenan, professional horse trainer. They are loved dearly as part of the Ranch family...it won't take long to fall in love with them, too!
