CO • Hearts & Horses

The Hearts & Horses team has a magical way of lifting everyone's spirits. H&H offers equine-assisted therapy to people with special needs, at-risk youth, veterans, and seniors with Alzheimer's. This therapeutic experience is a perfect blend of fun and play with tenderness and security. Riders develop trust and confidence, changing their lives for the better with every session. H&H will soon offer PATH Intl. workshops/certification and will be working with the Children's Hospital Colorado to study the effects of Therapeutic Horseback Riding. Careful, their wholehearted love for people and horses is contagious!

Barn Team Member: Daily turn out/in from pastures, stall cleaning, and sweeping.

Sidewalker: Walk to the side of the rider during class. Your primary responsibility is the safety of the student during class.

Horse Handler: Walking and caring for the horse, not the student, during the session.

Camp Counselor (Teen Leadership Program): Motivated teens have the opportunity to gain leadership experience and be a positive role model as a camp counselor.

Administrative and other opportunities: Since H&H is primarily a volunteer program, any special skills, talents, and time are welcome. You never know what might be needed.
