Located at one of the main trailheads in Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area, Big Fork Campground is your gateway to some of the most beautiful trail riding in the Southeast. You'll have your choice of RV campsites, tent campsites, or camper rentals. The new state-of-the-art barn has 14x14 bedded stalls, wash racks, grass turnouts, and a 16' center aisle. The second barn has 12x12 stalls with 2-hour turnouts and a private tack room. Shavings are provided free of charge. With a trailhead at the campground, your adventure will start a few steps from your campsite!
Big Fork Campground is located at the entrance of the Mount Helen Trailhead at Park Road in the Big South Fork Recreation Area. From the trailhead, you can ride directly to Needles Eye, Laurel Overlook, White Oak Overlook, Jake's Hole, the O & W Bridge, Gun Rock, Double Arches and many more. The O & W Railroad bed, which runs alongside the White Oak River and is known as the jewel of the park, is a 30-minute ride from the trailhead. For the adventurous riders, you can even ride through Big South Fork into Kentucky's 708,000-acre Daniel Boone National Forest.
"Trail Rider" magazine named Big South Fork the "Horse riding capital of the southeast," with over 200 miles of trails that have overlooks, cliffs, bluffs, caves, and creek crossings to explore. The trails range from short, easy, day rides to long, challenging loops that take several days to complete. It's recommended that horses have shoes, as some areas can be rocky. Color maps will be provided.
Let locals who grew up here and know every inch of the park take you to the best overlooks and landmarks in the park. You'll get to hear great stories and learn about the history of the area as it's been passed down through the generations.
Big South Fork is also great for hiking, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, mountain biking, and birding. The John Muir National Recreation Trail, a famous hiking trail that passes through the park, is very close the the campground. It is one of the top 5 most beautiful trails in Tennessee.
Big Fork Campground has RV campsites, tent campsites, and camper rentals. 12 sites accommodate large and medium RVs with electric and water hook-ups. No need to back into your spot; all RV sites are pull-through. Primitive sites have water nearby.
All sites have fire pits, as well as a covered gathering/eating area with a gas grill, coffee pot, etc.. The new bathrooms have private, spacious showers. WiFi coming soon!
The barn has a 16' center-aisle with eight 14 x 14 bedded stalls. There are two wash racks next to the barn with hot water inside.
You'll also find a newly completed mini-barn that has four 12x12 bedded stalls, private tack room, and hay storage. Sawdust included in both barns.
You can also rent a grass turnout paddock, corral panel pen, or picket line.

Located in Jamestown, TN near the entrance of Spruce Creek Acres, an equestrian community, and the western side of the Big South Fork National Rivers and Recreation Area.
You will have direct trail access to Big South Fork, with over 200 miles of riding trails. You can also access 25 miles of horse trails throughout Spruce Creek Acres. Trails vary in difficulty and terrain. They are well marked and easy to find with provided trail maps.

Fishing is popular in the Big South Fork Cumberland River nearby.
The campground has 9 sites total with a clean shower house and a shared camper kitchen. 8 sites have water/sewer/electric hookups, and 1 site has water/electric hookups. Each site has a fire ring with free firewood. You can also rent a 4-sleeper bunk room.
The 12 stall barn will provide you with the luxuries of home. Each stall comes with a saddle rack, bridle hook, 2 bucket hooks, stall fans, hay rack and tie ring. Your stall will be comfortably bedded for your arrival. If you want to give your horse a little extra room to stroll or roll, you can reserve fenced, shaded paddocks as well.

Big South Fork encompasses 125,000 acres of the Cumberland Plateau, and protects the free-flowing Big South Fork of the Cumberland River and its tributaries. You'll have miles of scenic rivers, streams, gorges, sandstone bluffs, overlooks and caves to explore in and around the area.
True West has easy access to park trails. Add to that a mix of private trails and you'll have access to over 200 miles of riding pleasure. The trails are mostly in the woods, along creeks and ridge lines. This makes for very pleasant conditions, even in summer. The trails are well marked and maintained, varying in both length and degree of difficulty. Some are short, easy day rides; others are strenuous loops that may take several days to complete.

The Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area is one of the most popular outdoor destinations in Tennessee with hiking, fishing, hunting, white water rafting, kayaking, and mountain biking. There are also ATV trails available nearby at Pickett Park. Check the campground schedule for seasonal activities and events.
Stay for a while in one of the 33 easy access, level RV and tent camping sites with water, 30-50 amp electric, and access to two shower houses with heat and A/C. Sewer hookups are available in 8 of the sites. A room, cabin, and camper are also available for rent. You'll even have Wifi in the main building.
You'll rest soundly knowing your horse is safe in the large clean barns, with 18' wide aisles. There are 67 bedded stalls available with 2 bucket hooks for your water and feed, a saddle rack, and a bridle hook. You can use the 2 large horse wash areas and a large 60' round pen whenever you please.
